School Admissions Policies

To apply to our school, you will need to complete the Swindon Borough Council admission process found here, by the relevant closing date: Primary school admissions for September 2025 | Primary school places and admissions | Swindon Borough Council

If you are also applying for reasons of Pupil Premium, Service Premium, on Social or Medical grounds, and/or Faith, then in addition you will need to complete and return to school, the Supplementary Information form below. These will be applied in line with the relelvant admission policy relevant at the time of admission.

Appeals

All applicants refused a place have a right of appeal to an independent appeal panel constituted and operated in accordance with the School Admission Appeals Code.

Any child who is refused a place at St Leonard’s has the right to an appeal against this decision. An appeal form needs to be completed through Swindon Borough Council within 20 days of the date of the letter refusing your child a place at the school for information on how to appeal, and an independent panel will be arranged to consider the appeal. Details of this process will be provided alongside the refusal letter.

On 1.1.25, The Diocese of Bristol Academies Trust (DBAT) will transfer responsibility for current DBAT schools to the Blue Kite Academy Trust (BKAT).
